About
I’m a Pittsburgh-based designer and digital artist whose lifelong mission is creating digital experiences that make people smile.
In the past ten years, I’ve designed hundreds of print documents, built dozens of websites, created several hundred pixel art works (including over one hundred mini-animations), sold tens of thousands of stickers, and more recently have designed and helped publish books for local authors. My most popular work is Wallace.dog, an on-going animation series starring my pet Corgi and his pixel pals.
When I’m not creating pinch-able pixel pets for the public, I enjoy watching video essays, making games, and listening to video game music while exercising.
Artist Statement
My earliest memories are of the video games I played with my family as a child growing up in the ‘80s and ‘90s. The excitement and adventure my mother and I shared while we explored the worlds of Zelda and Pokémon together showed me that games can connect people.
As a creative professional now working in the pixel art space, I strive to capture those experiences we shared and bring them to modern audiences of all ages.
Low resolution layouts and limited color palettes have taught me the value of working within constraints and making every pixel count. Sharing original pixel pieces online and listening to feedback has reinforced how good it feels to create art that helps other people feel good. When I read that a small detail in an animation has made someone laugh, or that a new piece reminded someone of a friend they’ve excitedly tagged and conversation then ensues, I know what I’m doing is worthwhile.
My pixel art, just like the games that inspired it, is about bringing people together to set out on new adventures, to explore distant lands, and to grow closer through shared experiences.
